Hre Mang is the current senior pastor at Falam Christian Church and has been living in the district since 2002. He moved to Indianapolis to attend law school at the Indiana University McKinney School of Law, according to the district’s website. James Hernandez has been serving on the board since January 2019 and is originally from Gary, Indiana. He said in a campaign video that his main goal is to be an advocate for educators and wants to be a good steward of the referendum funds that were approved in the spring. He is a graduate of Perry Meridian High School and has been an educator in Indianapolis Public Schools system, Speedway schools and Beech Grove schools, according to the board website. Lee Shively has been serving on the Perry Township school board since October 2019 and currently serves as the board president. The top three candidates with the most votes will win the board seats. Current board member Hannah Dale is not running for reelection this year.Īny voter living in the district can vote for the three at-large candidates. The two incumbent candidates face four challengers since one of the candidates has since decided to not run after the campaign dropping deadline passed. All of the board positions in Perry Township are at-large members. The Perry Township school board has seven seats, three of which are on the ballot this year.
